Jason is extremely detail oriented and transparent. Throughout our construction process, Jason kept an open line of communication, and ensured that everything was done correctly and timely. We enjoyed working with Jason and are very happy with the finished product!
We completed a redesign, master bedroom addition and total renovation of our 1960’s ranch house with Jason in 2019/2020. From the beginning we knew we had the right contractor as Jason had years of experience working with houses that were similar to ours so he had great thoughts and ideas about what we could do to modernize our home. We were able to use most of his ideas to make our house much more livable for the 2020’s.
Jason is very organized and communicative to work with and he was able to keep our project on track with the construction goals even after Covid hit. He provides regular written updates showing the construction timeline moving forward so you always know what is happening next. He also provides regular written budget updates outlining where you are with regard to your budget.
Jason will provide as much or as little assistance as you need with regard to purchasing items for the renovation. He helped us with tile, backsplash, windows, paint colors, and other selections and he has an excellent sense of design. He really helped us make sure everything that was selected for the house worked well together.
Jason has worked with many of the same subs for years so he knows the quality of their work and they all work well with him. The quality of the work from these subs was excellent especially the carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters, and HVAC subs.
When things arose in our project (and with a whole house renovation of a 1960’s house, things are going to arise!) Jason was very communicative about the issue and provided options for addressing the situation. He is also a calm person by nature and he did his best to make these situations less stressful.
We found Jason to be a very honest and professional person to work with and we are very happy with how our home turned out.
We love our home remodel! Working with Jason and JL Custom Group was a truly great experience! Jason was so patient with us and he has a great eye for design and detail. In addition to the construction aspect, Jason shopped with us and helped us pick out flooring and pointed us in the right direction when looking at plumbing fixtures and other design features. We stayed in our house during our remodel, as what started out as a smaller job ended up being a bigger kitchen remodel than we had originally imagined. His crew was extremely responsible, respectful, and skilled in their respective trades. Both Jason and his crew were helpful with troubleshooting some unforeseen issues- they were all solved creatively and the end result is amazing. We had envisioned a change when we bought the house but Jason really brought our vision to reality. Besides the fact that our new office space, kitchen, and laundry room look great now, we made some functional changes that improved the organization and flow of our space. Highly highly recommend! We would not hesitate to use JL Custom Group again, and are already thinking about what’s next on the list!
The moment I spotted it, I knew THIS was the house that had to be mine. It was as close to perfect for me as I could have possibly hoped. But as with most things that are not custom there were a few updates I wanted to make, and I knew that Jason Laviage from JL Custom Group was who I wanted to work with. This would be my second renovation with JL Custom Group and I had no doubt the professionalism, cleanliness, punctuality, transparency, and pricing would be better than other contractors who offer similar services.
Jason stayed in constant contact with me during the process. He offered industry advice by presenting choices and suggestions, but he never pushed me to change the scope of my design ideas. All of the sub-contractors he used were kind, professional, and made sure to keep things as tidy as possible.
Throughout the renovation, Jason provided me with weekly budget updates and detailed explanations for each line item. I felt Jason did an excellent job of communicating with me; keeping me informed about everything including potential delays, how to prepare and what to expect. Jason always returned my emails, phone calls, and text messages within 24 hours, but most of the time he got back to me right away.
Now that the work is complete, I am beyond thrilled with the results. The final product is exactly what I wanted. Every time I walk into the spaces that Jason transformed, I get this big, happy smile on my face! I look forward to the day when I can host people in my home again and show off the fabulous work Jason and JL Custom Group did for me.

When we decided to move to a larger home to accommodate growing teens, we were happy to have the help of Jason Laviage. The house he helped us find had the perfect footprint for our family, but needed improvements to optimize space. Despite it being a small project, he paid a ton of personal attention to every detail, and ensured that we were completely satisfied. Everything was done on time and on budget. A few months later our new window frame had shifted out of place. Jason responded immediately and got it fixed promptly, with no further issues. My wife and I purchased a mid-century home in Meyerland that had very little work done since it was initially built. Everything inside the home was old and outdated. We really liked the design and structure of the house and purchased it knowing a large renovation project was needed. After searching for over 2 years for our “perfect home”, we came across a completely remodeled home in Westbury. We fell in love with the home instantly! The layout, color selections, location, finishes, etc. Not only did Jason (JL Custom Group) make the entire home buying process fairly easy, he was willing to work with us on some small requests that we had before moving in. After being in the house for over a year now, we can honestly say that he home was remodeled with quality products and craftsmanship. The few issues we’ve experienced have all been minor and anytime we had a question regarding the house (warranties, floors, appliances, etc.) Jason responded immediately and was very willing to coordinate with us a solution to resolve the matter. We added two new members (twin boy/girl) to our family 5 months ago and are so glad we chose this house as our first home!
